Activity

The Terminal for Light Petroleum and Petrochemical products is designed to receive, accumulate and load light petroleum and petrochemical products onto tankers and railway tank-cars. The products are delivered to the terminal by rail and sea, transferred to the Terminal’s shore tanks, stored and, once the required batches have been accumulated, loaded onto tankers and/or rail tank-cars.

Veikla

Light petroleum and petrochemical products are handled

at the terminal in the following schemes:

  • Railway tank-car – shore tank – tanker;
  • Tanker – shore tank – tanker;
  • Tanker – shore tank – railway tank-car;
  • Tanker – railway tank-car;
  • Railway tank-car – shore tank – railway tank-car.

The terminal only accepts vessels that can connect to a vapour recovery unit or have their own vapour recovery systems.

The Terminal Site

The Terminal is located in the northern part of the Klaipėda Seaport. The coordinates of the port are 550 43′ N. 210 07′ E. The terminal is located at berth 3.

The terminal‘s berth is 250 m long, 14,0 m deep, with a maximum permissible draught of 12,5 m.

Larger tankers are also handled with the separate permission of the Captain of the Klaipėda State Seaport.

The largest loaded tanker had a length of 274,2 m and a width of 48,04 m.

Design capacity of the terminal

  • Railway rack capacity – ~2.0 million t/year of light petroleum and petrochemical products;
  • Berth capacity – ~4.0 million t/year of light petroleum and petrochemical products;
  • Tanker loading capacity – up to 2,000 m³/hour;
  • Unloading capacity from railway tank-cars to shore tanks – up to 1 200 m³/hour (up to 130 railway tank-cars/day);
  • Five separate technological systems for different product types;
  • The total capacity of the tank farm is 182 000 m³.

The terminal provides services 24/7, SHINC.

The terminal complex consists of

  • Berth No. 3 (maximum length of vessel (LOA) 250 m, maximum draught (fresh water) 12.5 m, loading hose/manifold diameter Ø300mm/12“);
  • Tanker loading/unloading station;
  • Tank Farm No. 03 (6 ferrous metal shore tanks of 20 000m³ each, total capacity up to 120 000 m³);
  • Tank Farm No. 05 (3 ferrous metal shore tanks of 14 000m³ each, 2 ferrous metal shore tanks of 5 000m³ each, 2 stainless steel shore tanks of 5 000m³ each, with a total capacity of up to 62 000 m³);
  • A railway rack, which can accommodate up to 26 4-axle railway tank-cars (13 on either side of the rack).
